So, if you haven't heard yet, these have been recalled. If ingested the glue turns into GHB (the date rape drug). I think in the states they are called Aqua Dots. Madi has been dying to have these since we came to Australia - they are everywhere and made by an Aussie company. I actually bought her some for Christmas - but have to return them now. Hopefully they can fix the problem because they actually look like a fun crafty toy.

I almost got them for my neice for christmas that is Madi's age, glad I didn't but I have heard they are fun! Not worth the risk, I agree with you. Although interesting Walmart's ad in the paper yesterday was still advertizing them....
yes, they have been recalled, i believe a child ate some here and got really sick, that is way scary. glad we heard about it before madi got to them.
Apparently the Chinese factory that made them used the wrong kind of chemical in the glue, if they would have used the right kind the product would be safe. So you will probably be able to get them again with a safe glue once the chemical is corrected. I'm glad you knew about it before one of your children used them.
