Christmas lights on the temple grounds....

...well, they can't really compare to Temple Square in SLC, but we did get our Christmas lights fix for the year at the Sydney, Australia Temple grounds last night. They had a cool nativity set up with huge wise men and a few lights on the trees around. They also play Church Christmas movies on a big screen, but we didn't stay to watch those. We got there before it was really dark enough to see everything all lit up well, and just enjoyed a walk around the temple and snapped a few pics. The kids had a good time running around getting out their energy. They were making us laugh by doing "grass angels" - I guess where there is no snow you improvise!
The whole time we were walking around I kept thinking how nice it was to go see Christmas lights and not be bundled up with hat, gloves, and layers on. How nice to walk around on a plesant night with a light jacket on (it is actually cool for this time of year) enjoying the evening. Instead of rushing through the lights and ducking into the buildings to get warmed up. I did miss the hot chocolate when we were all done and the snow on the lights - it is so magical when there is snow on the Christmas lights. However, it is so much fun to see flowers out and smell the sweet fragrances in the air while you are walking around. Different, but good!

Wow, I really like that silhouette shot of the bird. The framing is awesome with the trees, and the diagonal lines make it look great.
