FRESHWATER BEACH

Today we headed to the beach, along with hundreds of other Sydneysiders! We have been trying to go for about three weeks now and it has rained every weekend - most of the week too for that matter. Today was perfect weather. We decided to try Freshwater Beach. (A few moms at school had told me about it.) We bought a shade shelter a few weeks prior- a little pop up tent - with SPF 50 protection for Rylee to hang out in. She had a great time, and although inside of a shade shelter with a bottom to it, got tons of sand everywhere - the one downfall to the beach. Madi loves everything about the beach - the water, the sand, the sun, etc. She just can't get enough of it. She told us today that she will miss it when we go home.
Here are some of my favorite pics from the beach.
Inside the shade shelterRylee's first steps in the ocean - she was mesmerized by the water.Madi's moves on the boogie board - go surfer girl!Last time we went to the beach Cooper wouldn't allow us to bury him - this time I did it twice.

No trip to the beach would be complete without burying daddy in the sand - Madi had to join in the fun! She was laughing so hard she kept uncovering herself.

To the North there was an outcropping of rocks so we headed over for a little walk. It was cool to look out and see nothing but ocean and sailboats. We saw some huge waves splashing up against the rocks.

As you can see Rylee was a little tuckered out by this point and fell asleep in Kev's arms while we were walking on the rocks. How sweet is that?!

Sorry to those of you dealing with snow and cold temperatures. Don't get too jealous. All I can say is that I could get used to this!

So is it really freshwater? If not where did they come up with that name?

I don't know why they call is freshwater beach - it is just normal ocean water.
